The Cabinet of Ministers decided this year to redistribute an additional € 1.02 million to the state program to support housing purchasing. Latvian Ministry of Economy reported that on July 1, 2019, foreigners made 818 contributions for residence permits in the total amount of 2.103 million euros. Although, only those money is available that, according to the requirements of regulatory acts, cannot be returned to a foreigner or to his/her heirs. Than 1.176 million euros are available from the funds paid by foreigners in a scope of residence permit program. In the autumn 2019 the financing in the amount of 4.1 million euros will allow to provide new guarantees to resident families with children, which can support at least 510 families.
